History

The history of IPAD started off in 1953. In September of 1953, Dr. Merton E. Carver and Dr. Robert J. Filer, professors at the University of Richmond, began providing pre-employment psychological testing services for local companies. In 1958, they incorporated as Psychological Consultants, Inc. (PCI) as the oldest partner of IPAD in US. They also began designing and implementing assessment centers in the mid-1970’s. In 1997 the first cross-boarder project startet, when David Purdy and Christof Obermann were running individual management assessments for a German pharmaceutical company. More and more partners joined. In 2007 the partnership was officially set up.
